Iris Notes

PROGRAMS:

I have several programs that I present.
The "Iris Through The Season"  program shows you how you can Iris in bloom in your garden from before Crocus until heavy frost in the fall. This introduces the audience to various types of iris, with emphasis on newer varieties, along with cultural information. This presentation is enjoyed by Hort Societies.

The program "Pigments and Patterns" explores how we get the colours and patterns we see in modern Bearded Iris. It shows how the basic pigments combine to give us the colours we see and how they are patterned. This also covers some basic and intermediate genetics focusing on hybridizing. This program is well received by Iris Societies.

New Programes include "Hybridyzing for a Cold climate" and "Care and culture Of Iris"

Other programs are put together at specific requests. Feel free to enquire.

REFERENCE MATERIAL:

"The World of Iris" is still an excellent book, although a bit dated. Avaialble at the American iris Society webpage http://www.irises.org .

"The Gardener's Iris Book" is also excellent and available at most larger bookstores.

Wishing everyone a great bloom and growing season.
